A Word From Pastor John

As we start this New Year we hope that you can join us in our 2020 Bible reading plan. Over these next three Sundays we are going to be looking at the early Church in the book of Acts. What ways was the church different back then? And what can we learn from the early church? I hope that your New Year is off to a great start, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Bible Reading Plan: Week 2

This year, we are reading through the Bible chronologically using The Bible Recap Plan in YouVersion.

Take a bookmark from the front lobby if you'd like to keep track that way and go through at your own pace.

Day 8: Job 17-20 Use bible.com OR the YouVersion app

Day 9: Job 21-23

Day 10: Job 24-28

Day 11: Job 29-31

Day 12: Job 32-34

Day 13: Job 35-37

Day 14: Job 38-39

Before you read God’s Word today, seek His help with these 5 prayers:

1. God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. 2. God, let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, and not puff me up. 3. God, help me see something new about You I've never seen before. 4. God, correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand. 5. God, direct my steps according to Your Word.

Mission Minute

As we enter 2020, what if we just share an easy mnemonic/ pattern for daily prayer.

P- praise

R- repent

A- ask

Y- yield

Begin each day with praising God for who He is. Repent for any/all things that are not pleasing to God. Ask for our needs and desires of our heart. Yield to God’s will for us. What do you think? Also, reminder of Concert of Prayer for next Saturday, January 11th.

Blessings!

"...perspective has a huge effect on whether we thrive or shrivel. Jesus Christ is my reason to thrive. He is Emmanuel-God with us! There is an eternal perspective that allows me to not just get through, but be content in all circumstances. I have hope 😊 I will continue to focus on my Creator and lean on Him every moment of every day. Today’s a new day! And so is tomorrow and the next day! And I want to use them in whatever way God wants me to. I get to be a part of His plan!! Hurray for today!!!"
