Susie at LoveWorks where she poured out compassion on the community of Florence, AZ

On behalf of Mosaic Church, I want to say that we are so thankful for the life and ministry of Susie Kimbel and that she will be greatly missed. She was one of the most caring individuals I have ever met and she was the type of person who would do anything for anybody. When Jesus talks about caring for "the least of these," it was Susie Kimbel who took that call seriously. Throughout her years of ministry at Mosaic Church, there were countless women who she served and cared for through the LoveWorks pregnancy center. She was well-loved and well-respected by so many throughout the Florence community. As a pastor, it is rare to come across church members as selfless and hard-working as Susie. Her God-given passion to help women was something that God used in a tremendous way throughout her years of ministry. Susan will be greatly missed by us here at Mosaic Church. Perhaps all of us have been impacted by her life in a unique way. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We anxiously await the day when we get to see our sister again as she is now with the Lord.

Susie's legacy to me was her faith and trust in our Lord that enabled her to enjoy her sense of humor and laugh in spite of her circumstances.

My big sister Susie always stood up for me and encouraged me. She had a huge heart. Her joy was giving.

This sister of mine. She was loving giving and had a true servant heart. To quote a friend, 'when God made her, He broke the mold.' Words cannot express my heavy heart and just how much I'll miss her. We spent many hours together shopping, cooking, cleaning, giving service, and just being together I'll forever have a hole in my life.

My auntie was more than just an aunt to me, she  was like a mom to me & a grandma to our girls. You always knew when she entered the room because the “kids” young and old always ran for an Auntie Suzie hug! You always wanted her to be at your table because her laugh simply made everyone else laugh! You knew that she would give her last dime and the shirt off her back for you when she had very little herself. She was the special one who made everyone else feel so important.

I know God gained a treasure today but I am NOT happy about it today! I know there is peace in knowing she is healed but I really need an Auntie Suzie hug right now!  Love you always sweet auntie. I’m so glad you get to finally hold baby Terhaar and give Dave a big hug for me!

Well life will not be the same anymore for me. I have known these girls for 63 years but Susie left us early this morning to be with Jesus.  This is how she looked when I met her in 1957.  In order left to right Judy, Dawn, Susie & Sharon.  She will be greatly missed. She told me goodbye when she called us yesterday and said she had an appointment to go home to the Lord.  Although I am selfishly hurting I know she is no longer in pain and is rejoicing.  Also Christmas will never be the same because. Who is going to give me my lump of Coal?

My heart hurts so badly today as we have received the news that my dear aunt Suzie has passed away from Covid.

No words seem good enough to explain what she meant to me and  my family and what an amazing woman she was.

She will be so dearly missed.

My great Aunt Susie was like another grandma to me and I love her so much. It’s hard to believe she’s  actually gone but she will be missed and remembered forever. I’ll never forget her contagious laugh, how she supported me, and all the memories we made. But she’s in a better place where she is healed and in no pain.

Our beloved Suzie (Hope’s aunt) passed away this morning. I keep finding myself saying to people as I describe who she is to us that she was as close to Hope and I as a mother, and as close to our girls as a grandmother, and that’s because “my wife’s aunt” doesn’t even come close to inferring the incredible impact this amazing woman had on me and our family. While I am glad she is no longer suffering and in the arms of God, my family is moving forward heartbroken knowing that our time with her on this earth has come to a close far quicker than we ever wanted or could have imagined.

We love you Suzie, and are so thankful that we got to share a large piece of our lives with you. We are so much better off because of it.

This one really hurts. Aunt Susie was there for so many people in her life and was like a second mother to me when I lived in Florence and any time I saw her after that. While she wasn't a biological relative, she might as well have been with her motherly nature and nurturing spirit. Her heart was always welcoming and her hugs were especially legendary. This world had lost someone so special but God has gained a top angel this day. This virus may continue to take the people we love and cherish but it can never take our memories and the impact extraordinary people like this have on our lives. Hug your loved ones today and remember our time is short here.

Love one another.

She will be sorely missed by so many people. Her influence was wide reaching. From her sons to her sisters to her nieces and nephews and their families. To her extended church families and her LoveWorks families. She had a very compassionate heart and loved the Florence community and her clients. She wanted to see that everyone knew Jesus.

It’s so hard to believe you’re gone. We love you, Susie.

Comments about Susie on Facebook:

I have known Susie since 2011. She has truly been a blessing to me. In those early days I spent a lot of time with her at Love Works. She helped me through a special class with Christy Hicks showing me how to get through the difficulties of my past. She remained a good friend through the years and those memories of times shared will never be forgotten. She is a loving, empathetic and kind woman who had a funny side that could make me laugh in stitches. I love her family also. Thank you to everyone for loving me as she did. Xoxoxo

Susie was always up for a chat - she would chat and I would listen. And we would both laugh. She was passionate about the pregnancy center and her clients. Some became dear friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Susie always welcomed me with open arms. I remember first getting to know her at a family dinner at Clarence and Judy's. What a jewel of a person...just like the rest of her family! I KNEW Susie cared about me from her hugs and genuine concern when our paths crossed! She will be missed greatly but her sweet spirit will never be forgotten! Love and prayers to all!

I did not get to see you but thought of you quite often, you will always have a special place in my . You are now free to be able to do the things you really enjoyed doing but could not do them with out the pain. I will see you again when our Father in Heaven calls me home

Susie will be so missed by everyone. Her clients I have heard have been greatly blessed through the ministry that she so enjoyed and headed up. It was a pleasure to have known her. I’m so thankful that she is receiving her reward in heaven for a job well done.

From the tree of life, each leaf must fall, the green, the gold, the great, the small. Each one in God's own time He'll call, with perfect love He gathers all. Susie home with Jesus, resting in His arms in everlasting peace. She will be missed.

They gain a new angel in heaven today, but Susie was a angel here on earth too. She made a difference in many people’s life each day. I always felt better when I would see her beautiful smile and hear her cheerful hello. I will be praying for her family and friends that God wraps them in his loving arms. And gives them all the strength they need to get through this sad days.

Susie my dear friend. We were just getting to know each other I feel I was robbed to early of a special friendship we were building in Christ. You had such a beautiful heart of love and kindness that you always showed in your walk with Christ. I will miss you deeply. But Now you can Enjoy the life you were meant to have sitting with your maker. “Jesus Christ our Lord.”” Love and Miss you

There are no words...ever since Lisa and Kevin started dating, we have been a part of the family. Susie was so important to me and to everyone who knew her. I’m imagining the welcome she is receiving today. Her suffering is over..no more grief, no more asthma no more pain just rejoicing. Heavens gain is surely our loss.

Doretta Allison

My heart is sad for your loss..

My prayers are with you & each of the family today.

Susie was such a funny & humorous person.  She lit up any room she was in.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Susie always had the best dressed and I loved her hats. I know she is looking down on us and wants us to remember the fun times we all shared with her. I always tell myself after losing someone dear to me that I never got to tell them goodbye but I know for sure with Susie it will be said “until we meet again”. She touched my life in so many ways and always knew how to open my eyes. It’s still hard for me to take it in but I know she is taking care of all our loved ones that have gone on before us. So as I now say until we meet again Susie keep watch over us and take care of my baby girl while you are there.

Kristi Roberts

Susie wrote this on Facebook on June 10th after having been in the hospital and rehab since May 19th from her car accident. I'm sure she would want you all to know that she knew you loved her (and still love her).

"Thank you to all of my friends and family for your prayers, cards, and text messages. God has richly blessed me with caring and loving people in my life. I am making slow but steady progress towards wellness.   The thing I need prayer for the most, is my attitude.  Please pray that I can and will keep my eyes focused on Jesus and all that he has done for me.  I must keep my eyes on him to keep from slipping into self pity.  He’s got this!!! I just need to keep that in mind. Pain is a daily struggle.  It is getting a bit better.  I pray it will continue to decrease.  I have wonderful Drs and nursing staff.  I need LOTS of help, even with the simplest of things still.   So they exercise great patience with me.

2 Timothy 1:7 says ' He has not given us a spirit of fear, but if power and of love and of a sound mind. '.  I am clinging to this scripture."
